Creating an ‘Emergent Language Culture’ in a Teaching Team

Richard Chinn & Danny Norrington-Davies

In this plenary, Richard and Danny will explore how they have helped teachers and teachers-in-training work together to form groups that develop an emergent language culture and through this, their emergent language practices. This can be done by exploring classroom experiences and beliefs to make reflection more grounded and evidenced-based, and to work together to decide on a shared outcome. Richard and Danny will then discuss how this collaboration can develop further connections and projects within schools and online communities, which in turn can lead to new and exciting opportunities for teachers in understanding themselves and what happens in their classes.
