Real Songs. Real Skills. Real Progress.
Through Trinity College London’s Rock & Pop syllabus, students can play the music they love, choosing from a huge range of hit songs spanning all contemporary styles – or even perform one they’ve written themselves.
Candidates can learn the music they love with our huge range of hit songs spanning all contemporary styles. Learners will build their own set list, drawing from a list of eight songs while having the freedom to perform a song of their choice or one they've written themselves.
Teachers will benefit from a broad range of graded repertoire for bass, drums, guitar, keyboards and vocals – ideal for use in the practice room and classroom alike. Explore the syllabuses to find material ideal for performance at Key Stage 4, including a number of pieces arranged for ensemble.
Whether you enter pupils for our exams, use the repertoire for GCSE performance, or perform the arrangements of popular songs in extra-curricular ensembles, Rock & Pop opens new possibilities for classroom music.
The improvisation and playback sessions provide students with skills that professional musicians need, preparing them technically for the music world through live performance. At the same time, the exams your students take can contribute towards your school's Progress 8 performance and, from Grade 6, carry UCAS points for entrance to UK universities and colleges.
With Rock & Pop’s exams for groups, candidates have even more opportunity to develop and demonstrate their transferable skills. Groups are awarded marks for their choice of songs, balance of their set, the materials in their promo pack, and the professionalism of their stagecraft. Ideal preparation for further study and employment.
Trinity's 140-year heritage ensures that you can trust our expert examiners to provide feedback that will help your candidates to make measurable progress.
This heritage and experience is combined with the , which allows candidates to take responsibility for their own learning. The advanced tools in the app allow learners to control the mix of a recording, loop a section and adjust the speed/pitch of the song. With all this power at their fingertips, students have the opportunity to make rapid progress by combining their teacher’s input with highly-focused practice time.
If, for any reason, you have students who can’t opt for music as part of their Key Stage 4 options, then Rock & Pop opens up an externally regulated and internationally recognised qualification, demonstrating their progress as a musician.
