In summary:

Rock and Pop

Entries for face-to-face exams will open on 3 June and close on 19 June. These exams will take place in November depending on numbers and the availability of the examiner.

Music

Entries for face-to-face exams will open on 1 June and close on 28 June. These exams will probably run from the last week of September into October and, if there are sufficient numbers, possibly into the first week of November. 

If you are wanting to have examinations at your venue, kindly call me on 011 783 9354 to book a date as soon as possible.

Drama

Entries for face-to- face exams will open on 1 June and close on 24 June. These exams will take place in September.

Theory Saturday 9 November 2024

Entries for this session will open 1 June and close on 2 August.

Digital Exams

Digital exams will run until early December and re-open mid-January. 

ENTERING
The method for entering/registering for these examinations is via the link below – a simple click on this link will get you into the booking platform. In order to use it you need to register first and then choose which exams will be entered. If you registered in before, you would still have an active profile and you will not need to re-register, you can simply log in and enter your candidates. You need to remember your password!!

Please make sure that all your contact details are filled in on the registration page – ALL the blocks need to be filled in including the postal code. If all the fields are not completed, you will receive a message “Oops something went wrong” at the end of your registration which is very annoying as you will have to start again.

Once you have registered and entered your pupils, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your entry. This e-mail will have a unique code which you need to use as a reference when making the payment. Please make sure this unique code is reflected on your deposit slip.

Kindly note that only one payment per reference number will be accepted.

The entries will be downloaded off the website by this office the morning after the closing date. Any entry placed on the platform thereafter will NOT be included. Please diarize your closing dates to avoid disappointment.

Please note that Diploma entries need to be entered using the hard copy entry form linked here for Music, and here for Drama. Return this form to me together with the proof of payment and the completed POPI Consent form.  Please use JHB and the Candidate’s name as a reference on your deposit slip.

String Along Music School presents:

“The Symphony Factory”
A youth orchestra experience for ALL levels of playing! 
Monday, 1 July — Sunday, 7 July 2024

Here, children will get the chance to join an orchestra suited for their level of playing. The overall course features 3 different orchestra courses to accommodate all playing levels, as long as the child already takes lessons in their instrument and can independently produce a sound. 

Each course features: 

• Sectional rehearsals facilitated by renowned and experienced music teachers as tutors.
• Exposure to orchestra playing etiquette & rules.
• Tutti rehearsals with a renowned conductor.
• A concert & mass orchestra item featuring all 3 orchestras at the end of the course.
