TCL Gauteng October 2024 Newsletter
Dear Teachers, Parents, and Candidates
Drama Exams 2024
The Gauteng Drama session has just come to a successful conclusion and all reports have been emailed out. The originals can be collected from my office by appointment. I am usually available Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00 but, if this doesn’t work, please call me to arrange an alternate time.
It is also always better to schedule a time to collect.
As soon as the Certificates have arrived, you will be notified by either Oliver Collins or myself.
A few notes from the examiner:
- Please ensure that the candidate does not exceed the allocated time for the examination.
- Please make sure that all candidates are following the new syllabus which has been in place since September 2023. All syllabus documents can be found on the website: https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualifications/drama/grades.

Syllabus Information - Music
There appears to be some confusion over what syllabus is now valid for Trinity examinations.
“From now onwards, Trinity's music Syllabus will no longer operate with an end date. All pieces will remain valid until further notice and any planned updates will be announced at least 12 months in advance. The 2023 syllabus and associated pieces will become available for use in exams immediately on the day of release.
Trinity will continue to increase the repertoire available to candidates through a continual programme of new publication releases. Most repertoire and technical pieces will remain indefinitely*. You will find information about new publication releases on the instrument webpages and the shop.
This innovative change in approach to our music exam syllabuses will make our exams more accessible, provide rich and ever-increasing repertoire to choose from, and encourage candidates to continue playing the music they love for as long as they wish.
