Dear Eastern Cape Colleagues
I hope that you will all enjoy this new, improved version of my newsletter/ update for the upcoming months.

Our mid year exam session went off very successfully and, as always, our music and drama students presented the examiners with a very high standard of work.
Practical Music
Of 27 candidates , 19 achieved Distinctions and Merits, with 10 of those in the 90's. Two young Violin pupils from Kingswood Prep, Christian Grové and Luna Mannell, each achieved an amazing 99% mark.
The examiner, Ms Gillian McCutcheon, spoke in glowing terms of the level of preparation which was very evident in all the candidates presentations. Well done to all of you hardworking teachers!
Practical Drama
This was another success story, with every one of the 17 candidates achieving Distinction or Merit passes. Top Achiever on the day was Katherine Wilson, of the Robin Williams Drama Academy, achieving 92% for her Grade 7 Musical Theatre exam.
Theory
Theory exam results in May were equally pleasing, with 12 Distinctions and 5 Merits for the 17 candidates. Congratulations and thanks to all who made me a very proud rep!
End of Year Exams
The end of the year Practicals are looming and I am very excited to see the growth in the candidate numbers for Music 2024. We will have
Iona Zuiderwyk with us from 10 October through to 01 November. See the

These timetables are all completed and approved. Appointment slips will be sent out early in September.
PLEASE NOTE THE CLOSING DATE CHANGE FOR THEORY OF MUSIC/DRAMA EXAMS:
Entries will now close on Friday 13 September 2024 for the Written exams on 9 November 2024. Please email me if you need a copy of the ENROLMENT FORM for these Theory exams.
The fees document and Bank details were attached in my email of 24 May.
Candidate Numbers
In closing, I would like to remind all of you of my request that you compile a register of all of your pupil's Candidate numbers and that you insert them in the relevant column on the exam entry forms (usually Column M). These are available on all documents pertaining to their exams - i.e. Reports, certificates, and Appointment slips.
If you do this, it saves me a lot of searching online to ascertain and fill them in, as no candidate may be entered without this number attached.
New candidates will be allocated a number with their first ever exam.
