Dear Teachers, Parents and Candidates

Dear Colleagues,

ORCHESTRAL WORKSHOP

The Johannesburg Centre of the SASMT is bringing you an Orchestral Workshop for your students, similar to the one held in 2023.

Eddie Clayton, well known Conductor and Arranger will be conducting an Orchestral Workshop for learners studying orchestral instruments.

Teachers are invited to enter their students as participants and attend the Workshop as Observers. The event promises to be fun filled, as well as educational for both teachers and pupils. Give your students the opportunity to make music with their peers on a learning platform under the experienced guidance of Eddie Clayton. Eddie is happy to include students from Grade IV (Grade exams) upwards.

The event will end with a public performance. All will be invited to attend.

For those trying to develop their own School Orchestras, often with limited resources, this should be really instructive and helpful.

The Workshop will take place on Saturday, 16th November, from 09.00 – 12,00pm with the Concert at 12.30p.m. The venue is the foyer of the Wozani Block, 27 St. Andrews Road, Parktown.

The programme will include a selection of Orchestral Compositions.. Parts will be sent out to participants ahead of time.

If you are interested, please complete the application form attached here.

The entry fee will be as follows:-

Participant:                  R200.00

Observers                    R120.00

SASMT Members       R90.00

Concert                       R50.00 per adult. Children and morning observers free.

Look forward to hearing from you and best regards.
