**1: Choosing and preparing for your topic  (GESE 5):**

- *overview of exam components*
- *introduce language requirements of the grade, activities to raise awareness of communicative skills, language functions, and appropriate level grammar, lexis and phonology*
- *how to choose a topic that will lead to the language of the grade – how to use the Topic form –avoid memorisation*
- *demonstrate tools to mind-map, structure and rehearse topic – check lists*
- *guidance on practice, peer-correction and use of Trinity example videos*

**2: Delivering your topic (GESE 5):**

- *what’s the examiner looking for?*
- *how to structure / pace your Topic presentation*
- *activities on responding to / asking suitable questions for the level*
- *guidance on engaging the examiner*
- *activity on target discrete language (notably tense / aspect, expressions of preference etc.)*
- *activity to review performance of a topic*

**3: Preparing for the conversation phase (GESE 5):**

- *introduction to conversation areas covered*
- *activities to learn vocabulary related to the subject areas – examples / resources*
- *use of collocation and appropriate lexis / using language of grade*

**4: Doing the conversation phase (GESE 5):**

- *how to engage the examiner during conversation*
- *framing responses – using language of the grade*
- *video activities – responding to the examiner*
- *survival strategies – conversational gambits*
