Written by Trinity College London | Jul 21, 2022 4:37:17 PM

This webinar was designed to help teachers work more effectively with gifted learners in the ELT classroom. The presenter provided useful tips to help teachers identify giftedness in young learners, and strategies for successful inclusion.

During the webinar, the presenter explored:

  • What does a 'gifted/talented child' mean?
  • How to recognise a possible gifted child
  • Diversity & inclusion
  • Approaches, strategies and tips to address Early Years gifted learners
  • Examples of lesson ideas

Summary

When teachers and school leaders talk about differentiated instruction and inclusion, the particular needs of gifted learners can be missed. However, for those individuals to reach their full potential, it is paramount that their needs are identified as early as possible and taken into account when planning lessons. This webinar aims at helping teachers cater for the needs of young, gifted learners, thus allowing those children to thrive. Teachers will receive tips to identify what giftedness in young children looks like, and strategies on how to successfully include them in the regular ELT class.
