Dr. Anastasia Khawaja (she/her) currently lives in Ramallah, Palestine. She is the past chair of the TESOL International Association Membership Professional Council. She also serves as the conference chair and English for Specific Purposes SIG Chair for TEFL Kuwait. Dr. Khawaja is currently an adjunct professor of composition teaching online for the University of South Florida. Her research grapples with deconstructing the binary understanding of the Palestine/Israel region through language representation, language attitudes, and language use. Her most recent work can be found in the volume Creating Classrooms for Peace in English Language Teaching.
