Frequently asked questions

Please see the list below which contains the most common questions asked about the conference:

Presentations throughout the conference are held using Zoom. 

 

When selecting 'join', you will be taken to your selected presentation in the Zoom application.

 

We recommend that you download the Zoom Client for Windows here, or the relevant app for your device (Apple/Android).

 

At the start of the conference, there is time designated as 'registration'. We recommend that delegates use this time to ensure that they can access the 'registration' session.

 

Delegates who are able to successfully connect to the 'registration' session, should have no problems connecting to other sessions throughout the day.

In order to attend, you will need an internet-enabled device (desktop PC, laptop, tablet) with speakers.

 

To interact, we recommend that you have a web camera and microphone.

 

Many devices have these components, please check your device.

Each sessions contains a 'join' button. Please use the 'join' button to be directed to your selected session.

Please note: you will not be able to join sessions prior to designated start time.

Each specified timeslot for breakout sessions will have four talks covering the four strands:

  • English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
  • Young Learners
  • Innovation and Technology
  • Teacher Education

You are able to choose the sessions you wish to join by selecting 'see options' from the programme, or by selecting 'breakout sessions' in the main menu.

You should only join sessions at the specified start time. Attempting to access sessions prior to this time will result in an error.

All presentations are recorded and will be available to delegates to re-watch after the conference.

Throughout the day, there are two pop up sessions. These run during the break and can be accessed from the programme and via the main menu.

 

The pop up sessions are designed to be short and interactive.

Reports of attendance will be available for the online conference.

There are limits to the number of delegates in each Breakout session. All Breakout sessions are running on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All sessions are recorded and will be available to delegates after the conference.

If you are unable to hear the speaker, please check that your sound device is activated.

When using a PC/Laptop, please ensure that the relevant sound drivers are installed and active.

We recommend that delegates use the most up to date version of Zoom. 

Within your Zoom application, please select your profile picture or initials at the top right of the application. You will then be able to select 'Check for updates'.
