This webinar explored how best to align our assessment of a learner’s English with their learning journey in our schools. Does our assessment fit in with our educational philosophy and can we maximise the positive ‘washback’ that assessment potentially has?
Summary
Assessment is a key part of the learner’s journey through our Language Teaching Organisations. As managers and teachers, we think through each stage of the learning journey in terms of how communicative our lessons are, and what outcomes we wish to see. However, we are perhaps guilty of not fully thinking through the effects of assessment and the positive ‘washback’ that our assessments could achieve. This presentation looked at the typical touchpoints of assessment in schools and analysed how they could be more communicative and have a more positive effect on progress by considering the tools available and how they can best be utilised.
