Trinity’s Integrated Skills in English (ISE) exam is designed for those who need to demonstrate their level of English proficiency either for further academic study, or for work purposes. As with any exam, students need to learn what to expect, and how best to tackle specific tasks.
This session was for teachers who already have some knowledge and experience with ISE, but who would benefit from a more detailed look at the assessment criteria so they understand how examiners mark performance.
During the webinar, the presenter focused on the tasks that students find most challenging in the reading and writing module of ISE, and offered practical guidance on how teachers should approach practice and preparation to help students succeed.
About the presenter
Meg Cassamally is an experienced teacher, teacher trainer and English language examiner, who has been involved in primary, secondary and tertiary sectors for over 28 years. She regularly collaborates on a range of exams as both an examiner and item writer. Her qualifications include a B. Ed (Hons), Cambridge DELTA, Diploma in TESOL (Distinction) and MA in TESOL (Distinction), and she has recently completed a course in Management and Learning.
