Creativity and Sustainable Development Goals

This session looked at how a creative approach to language teaching can support the development of student awareness of sustainable development goals, and encourage reflection on personal and collective efforts within their communities.

Summary

This Transformative Teachers webinar had a dual focus – to encourage participants to teach a language creatively whilst at the same time raising students’ awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By bringing together a range of innovative ideas for teaching creatively and addressing these key themes, a series of activities that seek to mobilize students’ creative thinking was demonstrated. The webinar also highlighted how the language classroom can serve as an incubator for students’ awareness of the need to ensure the sustainable development of their community through their own personal and collective efforts.
